A short flip through our visual design development process;
6 months of work, countless ideas, 1000+ styleframes to develop 7 coherent visual systems for IBM’s think 2019 identity.
Each system represented a specific exhibition campus, often aligning with a business unit, area of technology or more general topics such as community + partners.
The design challenge was to create a set of unique looks, each singular in its appearance and behaviour while also sharing a common aesthetic to fit together as a whole.
In the video above you see the evolution of ideas – often starting from single ideas, growing into complex visuals, then being cut back and refined into the final aesthetic.
